Tidefall Privacy Policy
Tidefall saves your game progress online, measures how the game is played only if you agree, and shows video ads. This policy explains what data that involves, who handles it, and how you control or delete it.
Who we are
Tidefall is developed and published by Ali Ramadan, Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("we", "us"), who is the data controller for the data described here. Contact: my.aliramadan@gmail.com.
What we collect
We collect only what the game needs to run, keep your progress and, with your permission, improve the game. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos or precise location.
| Data | Examples | When it is collected |
|---|---|---|
| Game progress | Stage reached, heroes, gear, gold, gems, unlocked battle speeds, settings | Always, to save your game on the device and in the cloud |
| Player account ID | A random Unity player ID; your Google Play Games or Game Center player ID if you connect it | Always (player ID); platform ID only if you connect |
| Play statistics | Sessions, total play time, runs played and won, ads watched, number and value of purchases | Always, stored with your cloud save |
| Gameplay analytics | Stages started and finished, summons, recruits, tutorial progress, stages skipped, device model, OS version, app version, approximate country from your IP address | Only if you choose "Accept all" or turn analytics on |
| Advertising data | Advertising ID (Google AAID / Apple IDFA where permitted), IP address, device details, ad views and clicks | Only when an ad is requested; used for personalised ads only with your consent |
| Purchase data | Product, price, currency, transaction ID, receipt, and subscription status from Google Play or the App Store | When you buy gems, a battle-speed unlock or the ad-free subscription |
| App configuration requests | App version, platform, player ID | On launch, to check whether a newer version of the game is available |
Payments are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never receive your card or bank details.
Ads in the game
- Reward videos are optional: you choose to watch one to get a bonus (for example a bonus loot roll or a revive).
- Interstitial ads may be shown between battles (at most once every few runs).
- Ad-free subscription: subscribers see no interstitial ads and get reward bonuses without watching a video. The subscription renews monthly until you cancel it in Google Play or the App Store.
How we use it
Each use has a legal basis under the EU and UK GDPR; elsewhere the same limits apply.
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Run the game, save and restore your progress across devices | Game progress, player account ID | Performance of our contract with you (the game's terms) |
| Deliver what you buy, keep subscriptions active, and prevent duplicate or fraudulent purchases | Purchase data, player ID | Contract; legitimate interest in preventing fraud |
| Show ads (reward videos and interstitials) | Advertising data (non-personalised) | Contract (reward videos you ask for); legitimate interest in funding a free game (interstitials) |
| Personalised ads | Advertising data | Your consent, which you can withdraw in Settings |
| Understand how the game is played and improve balance and features | Gameplay analytics, play statistics | Your consent (analytics); legitimate interest (aggregate play statistics kept with your save) |
| Tell you when an update is available | App configuration requests | Legitimate interest in keeping the game working and secure |
| Answer support and data requests | What you send us | Legitimate interest; legal obligation for data-rights requests |
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that run the game's features, each bound by its own privacy terms.
| Provider | What they do for Tidefall | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Unity Technologies (Unity Gaming Services) | Player accounts, cloud save, analytics, remote configuration | Game Player and App User Privacy Policy |
| Unity LevelPlay and its ad network partners (including Unity Ads) | Choosing and showing ads, measuring ad views | Game Player and App User Privacy Policy |
| Google (Google Play, Google Play Games) | Purchases and subscriptions on Android, optional account sign-in | Google Privacy Policy |
| Apple (App Store, Game Center) | Purchases and subscriptions on iOS, optional account sign-in | Apple Privacy Policy |
We may also disclose data when the law requires it, to protect players or the game from fraud or abuse, or to a successor if the game changes owner (you would be told first).
Your choices and rights
- Privacy prompt: on first launch you choose "Accept all" or "Essential only". Essential only keeps cloud save but turns off analytics and personalised ads.
- Change your mind: Settings > Privacy & data has separate switches for gameplay analytics and personalised ads.
- Delete your account: Settings > Account & cloud save > Delete account & data permanently deletes your player account, cloud save and analytics data, and resets the game on that device. You can also email us. See how to delete your account.
- Subscriptions: deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions) or in your Apple ID settings.
- Device settings: you can reset or limit your advertising ID in Android or iOS settings, and refuse app tracking on iOS.
- Your rights: depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, California law or the UAE data protection law) you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw consent. Turning off personalised ads also opts you out of any "sharing" of data for targeted advertising. You can complain to your local data protection authority.
We answer requests within 30 days. We may ask for your in-game Player ID (shown in Settings > Account & cloud save) to find your data.
Retention, security, transfers and children
- Retention: your cloud save and play statistics are kept while your account exists and are deleted when you delete it. Analytics data is kept only as long as needed to improve the game and within Unity's retention periods. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Security: data travels encrypted (HTTPS) and is stored by Unity, Google and Apple on access-controlled infrastructure. Only the Tidefall team can view player records in the Unity dashboard.
- International transfers: our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. They use safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Children: Tidefall is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, up to 16). We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for important changes we will tell you in the game before they apply.
